You can make this chilli in a crock pot or slow cooker. I always make the chili overnight in my slow cooker.
Ingredients:
1 sweet onion
2 cloves garlic
2 lbs lean ground meat (such as chicken, turkey, beef or pork)
2-4 tbsp Quick and Simple Seasoning Blend or any meat seasoning you have in your kitchen (like Mrs, Dash, salt, pepper, steak spice, or chicken spice)
3 large carrots
3 celery stocks
1 cup green beans
6 cups low sugar tomato sauce
2 cans of three bean medley
2 cups of cooked organic corn
1 cup chopped1Kale (optional)
1 cup chopped Zucchini (optional )
1 cup chopped Mushrooms (optional)
SLOW COOKER
Preparation:
Finely chop sweet onion and garlic.
Finely chop carrots and celery into ½-inch pieces.
Cut green beans into 1-inch pieces.
Rinse canned bean medley in a colander
Place all the ingredients in the crock pot or slow cooker.
Cook on low for 7 hours.
Stir occasionally for the first 2 hours. This will break the ground meat so it is not in big chunks.
STOVE TOP
Preparation:
Finely chop the sweet onion and garlic.
In a large pot, sauté the sweet onion and garlic in 2 tbsp coconut oil for 4 minutes.
Stir in the lean ground meat.
Add two tbsp of Quick and Simple Seasoning Blend or any meat seasoning.
Brown the meat for 10 minutes.
Chop celery, carrots and green beans.
Add celery, carrots and green beans to meat mixture.
Optional Add: chop kale, zucchini and mushrooms. Add to meat mixture.
Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
Rinse canned bean medley in a colander
Add low sugar tomato sauce and canned bean medley (Yes, it’s a bit of a cheat because it’s not homemade, but we are all busy people.)
Mix all the ingredients with a large spoon.
Let the sauce simmer on medium heat for 60-90 minutes..
